One of our favorite discussions on Connecting Faith is when you decide the topic. It happens each month when we invite Bible professors from the University of Northwestern into the studio and open the phone lines for questions on the Bible, faith and the church. This month on Ask the Professor we welcome back Professors Mark Muska and Brad Sickler to field your questions.

On today’s program, we covered important topics such as; salvation, apostles’ names, the importance of reading through the Bible and more!

So why is it important to read the Bible in its entirety?  Our professors explain the importance of putting scripture into context in really understanding what we are reading.

“We need to take the whole council of God, not just pick out the parts we like” -Professor Brad Sickler

It was pointed out by Professor Muska that we live in a time of ‘decline bible reading’ that can be noticed; especially in the church.

Our listeners asked great questions, including:

•  What does the healing of nations mean?
•  Why don’t the apostles have last names?
•  How can we respond when someone is bashing Christians?

Professor Muska used football player Tim Tebow as an example of someone who has stood up for his faith in the public spotlight and responded with an honorable demeanor.

“He always responded with kindness…I think he’s a great role model for our young people” -Professor Mark Muska

If you missed the opportunity to ask your question today, call during the live broadcast the 3rd Thursday of each month or submit your questions here. We look forward to hearing from you!
