Caleb Breakey is a former journalist and author of the best-selling book, Called to Stay. He is a frequent conference speaker with a sincere passion to lead, challenge, and inspire others in discussions about relationships, the church, and radically following Jesus.

The words Caleb longs to hear at the end of his life were penned hundreds of years before his birth in Numbers 14:24: “But my servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land.”

Caleb is an ACFW Genesis Winner (Speculative Fiction), graduate of the Christian Writers Guild’s Craftsman Course, and he’s taught about writing and Jesus at conferences in California, Colorado, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, and Washington.

An avid reader and constant learner, Caleb embraces the chaos of social media and crowdsourcing. He raised $10,000 in six weeks via Kickstarter.com and has seen his Facebook page grow to nearly 30,000 fans.

Ever since earning a degree in journalism at the age of 20 from Western Washington University, Caleb has published hundreds of articles in various publications (Chicken Soup, The Seattle Times, MLB.com, Christian Broadcast Network), been named a finalist for Sportswriter of the year by the WNPA, and has interviewed numerous professional athletes and musicians, including Rogers Clemens, Derek Jeter, Jake Locker, Casting Crowns, and Emerson Drive. He’s also been interviewed by the police (seven squad cars) after he and his wife were mistakenly arrested as suspected bank robbers . . . on their honeymoon.

Kevin Kaiser, writer and brand strategist for Ted Dekker, says “Caleb’s passion for storytelling reminds me of a comet: rarely seen, white-hot, and a bit dangerous.”

Caleb and his wife, Brittney, live in Washington State.
