We hear about ISIS daily in the news. This dangerous terror group is wreaking havoc across the Middle East, the Persian Gulf, and North Africa and looking to spread their ideology across the globe—specifically targeting Christians with their attacks. It’s a real issue and crisis, with the heart of the ISIS plan being to wipe out Christianity in the Middle East and march all of the way to Rome.
Author and humanitarian Johnnie Moore spells out what needs to be done, and shares the story of courageous believers still shining the light of Christ in these dark days and places. We review his book and talk about the issue at hand on this Connecting Faith.
Johnnie explains that while this problem is getting worse in the Middle East, there is also a problem here with apathy and lack of coverage in the media. A lot happens that we don’t see, and our lack of caring is causing more people to die.

So we’re left with the questions: “What can we do?” “How do we advocate?” “Is there hope?”
The answers are that we can educate ourselves on the topic and also take action. We can tell our government that this issue needs to be taken seriously, and let them know that we concerned. This is the most serious threat relating to Foreign Policy, and ISIS is so awful that even other terrorist groups won’t associate themselves with it. It may seem hopeless, but Johnnie also reassures us that there is hope. What the enemy means for evil, God will turn out for good.

We can also pray without ceasing. Pray for provision, for protection over persecuted Christians, and for perseverance.
