Grace?  What is it?  Amazing?  Really?

Grace—God takes the initiative to give us something we don’t deserve. Amazing?  Yes, precisely because we are so undeserving.

Who breaks the power of sin and darkness?

God created us to live in perfect harmony with Him.  But, just like our ancestors who rebelled against God, we chose to go our own way, too.  We wandered from His brilliant light into darkness. As a perfectly holy being, God couldn’t allow us even be in his presence, so He sent us away.

Unfailing love . . . mighty so much stronger

The good news is God loved us too much to leave us that way.

You took my place . . . bore my cross . . . laid down your life

None of us can find the way back to the light again on our own.  God knew only one who had never been in darkness could welcome us to the light.  So He sent His one and only son, Jesus, to bear the punishment for our rebellion.  He died in our place.

That I would be set free

Jesus can set us free from guilt. . .  fear . . .  darkness

How do I experience that freedom?

God simply asks that you admit your rebellion against Him.  Tell Him you accept what Jesus did on your behalf.  Thank Him for bringing you back into the light.  Matter of fact, why not do that right now?  You can pray this simple prayer:

Dear God, I admit that, like my ancestors, I have lived in rebellion against you.  I’m sorry that I have offended you in so many ways.  Thank you for sending Jesus to earth to teach me your ways then to die to pay the price of my rebellion.  I accept what he has done for me.  Thank you for welcoming me back into your arms, this time forever!  Help me walk in your ways from now on.

If you just said that prayer, please let us know.  We would like to celebrate with you—and maybe even send you some helpful materials.  Did you just say that prayer?
