Do you feel that you’ve gone too far to ever experience God’s forgiveness? Here’s a powerful truth: God’s love covers everything in our lives. On the weekend edition of Live the Promise Susie is joined by pastor Kurt Bubna. He shares his story of failures, redemption, and the power of God’s Epic Grace.

When you think of grace, what comes to mind? Kurt points out that we often have a narrow view of grace. It’s not only meant to save us, but to change and sustain us. Kurt shares his own journey, growing up with an angry father, eventually walking through his child’s illness, and the divorce of his parents after decades of marriage. As a result, Kurt became bitter, angry, and walked away from God.

After a time of rebellion and running from God, in Kurt’s words, “God reached me through a friend.” He returned to the ministry and now shares his story around the world. Kurt brings this message: “I love making God the hero… He delights in us.”

Sometimes Satan tries to use our past choices and missteps against us. Here are a few things to do when you find yourself believing the lie that says “I’ve gone too far”:

Surround yourself with people who love you and will speak the truth of God to you – what Kurt refers to as “the fellowship of the broken”

Read and memorize the Word and the promises of God

Check your heart motives to avoid falling into the “performance” mentality

Choose to worship

Grace is a powerful force in the life of the Christian. It forces us to rely on God’s strength and minister and love out of our own weakness. We can’t earn it – so we can’t un-earn it. If you feel you’ve gone too far, repent and come back to God. The “prodigal son reunion,” as Kurt calls it, is unlike any other experience. Return to God – His arms are open and His heart is ready.
