You are not a commodity; you are a soul with a body. Listen as musician David Zach of Remedy Drive – a genre he calls “piano rock” – joins the program to share his music and faith journey, and battle against human trafficking.

“There’s something about a melody that has a way of reminding our hearts of hope.”

It was an outlet for his doubts and questions as he walked out his faith. David says, he feels compelled to get involved in the fight for freedom.

“I look at my children and I know that someday they will know what went on in 2o14. Someday they’ll look at me and ask ‘Did you do something?'”

David shares his connection with The Exodus Road and his experience posing as a “client” in order to gather information and free the young girls he interacted with. He partnered with anti-trafficking agents and was overcome by what he experienced. He shares some of the themes of their new project:

Commodity
A song of “hopeful defiance”

Throne

“Seeing what I saw, there’s so much reason to despair. Instead of doing that, I’m not going to stop singing. I’m not doing to stop playing piano because we know with confidence that the King is still on the throne in the midst of this.”

Under the Starlight
The inspiration behind this song came while David was in a city in southeast Asia. One particular night, in an area that has miles and miles of brothels, David felt a “heaviness” that he couldn’t explain.

“I said ‘God, where are You? Why don’t You come back now? Why don’t you fix this?'”

King of Kings
David calls this “a song that tries to give honor and glory to my Savior in the midst of all my questions.”

Take Cover
David calls this an invitation for all of us to return to the Lord with our hurts and be content with Him.

Cool of the Day
This song is asking the question, what was it like to be alive, fully known by God, at the beginning, before sin, death, and suffering entered the world?
