Life seems safer and more secure when we’re in the boat. But when God calls us to take His hand and step out onto the water, He calls us to a life filled with passion and purpose. On Live the Promise, listen as Susie speaks with Caroline Barnett of the Dream Center. We explore what it looks like to take radical steps of faith and being Willing to Walk on the Water.

We are part of the miracle and answer that God has provided to this world [for poverty]. By being that example, by lifting somebody else up, being the answers, speaking to them the Word of God, because again, when the government provides food all they’ve simply done is provided a meal – but when we as a body of Christ come, we give a reason to live, a hope for tomorrow, strength for tomorrow, healing, we bring them out of where they are and take then to a greater place so they won’t always need assistance.

We try to change their mentality that there is a God who loves them, who is for them, who will back them up – that they’re not so broken that He can heal them. All God needs is our willingness [to help] and we can change this world.”

A supernatural dynamic is at work when we do something in Jesus’ name, isn’t it.

“Absolutely. The food truck is simply a way to meet people where they’re at. We get to talk to them … and ask people, ‘Can I pray for you? Can I offer you prayer?’ 80% of people say yes [to prayer]. And the number one prayer request is that God will provide work, not a handout, not a winning lottery ticket number… Our hope is that they won’t be in that food truck line forever.”
