Is there really credible evidence that proves that Jesus really was the Son of God? According to Lee Strobel, there is.

When Lee first encountered the story of Christ, he was a investigative journalist and he was skeptical, to say the least. He took it upon himself to put his investigative journalist skills to the test to try to get to the bottom of the story of Christ. His first stop was investigating what science had to say about a Creator.

“I began kind of broad initially as I was looking at the evidence. I did look at science, cosmology, physics, biochemistry, genetics, and human consciousness.”

Through this study of the sciences, he discovered ample evidence that pointed to a Creator that sounded a lot like the God of the Bible. Lee soon realized that the lynchpin of his investigation would be the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“I realized that Christianity is totally dependent on the resurrection of Jesus, and the Apostle Paul admits that in 1 Corinthians 15:17 when he says, “if Christ has not been raised your faith is futile. You’re still in your sin.”

Lee says that unlike other religions, he discovered that Christianity actually invites investigation.

“Christianity says, check it out, and investigate for yourself, and that’s what I did. I thought this was a legend, make believe, wishful thinking, hallucinations, delusions, or whatever. I pursued all those angles and ultimately came to the conclusion that the evidence that Jesus was who He claimed to be was clear and convincing for anyone who approaches it with an open mind.”

Lee says that as a journalist, he was taught to have an open mind and accept evidence for what it was.

“In the end I couldn’t turn away, I was trained in a law school and journalism school to respond to evidence. So it was against my nature to turn my back on what I’d found.”
