Are you really in recovery?

Even if you haven’t had a relapse with your addiction, without Jesus there is no real recovery.

Tonight the guys welcomed Tim to the program to hear his story of how turning to God saved him from his alcoholism, and completely changed his life.

Once an alcoholic, Tim found himself living a lie trying to hide his alcohol abuse from those around him. From lying about having plans in order to stay home and drink, to making fake phone calls in the liquor store just to pretend that he was getting alcohol to drink with friends and not alone, Tim’s life was filled with shame and lies. But it didn’t stay that way. On the morning of August 6th, Tim prayed to be delivered from his alcoholism, and his addiction was lifted.

Tim’s Story

Tonight’s Step: 3- We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understand God. We believe that we don’t have a higher power, we have the highest power. The key of this step is that we don’t just turn our problem over to God, we give Him our entire life and every part of it.

“We don’t just have a drinking problem, we have a living problem.”

Key Verse:

Psalm 51:17 “My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.
