God is moving all over the world – including in the Amazon. On this edition of Live the Promise Susie talks with author, speaker, and musician Kelly Minter. She shares how a trip to South America increased her love for the gospel.

Kelly has traveled to the Amazon a total of nine times. She recalls what happened when the opportunity came up for her to make the trip.

“The first time I was asked to go I was wrestling with mental instability, emotional issues – the thought of going to the Amazon seemed like the last thing I wanted to do. There was a certain measure of familiarity and peace in that part of the world for me, even thought I’d never been there before. The Amazon River felt familiar – I think it was just one of those graces the Lord gave me.”

Kelly shares,

• The pace of the Amazon and how it affected her own.

• Why it’s dangerous to “entangle” our Christianity with the American dream.

• How a 12-year-old boy changed her perspective by saying “God sent you, to see me.”

• How the Spirit leads us in our daily life.

Kelly says the trips have changed her perspective.

“It’s a huge task that overwhelms me… there’s this journey and sometimes you forget to look back and see how amazing it is. When I look back I think ‘Lord, look at what You’ve done. Look at all these jungle pastors and their wives we’ve been able to minister to.”

Kelly points to the Old Testament story of Gideon and says ultimately, God is looking for those who will hear Him and go in the strength they have, as God will supply the rest. If we hear His voice, go, and trust Him to give you what you need for the journey.
