When we have the Holy Spirit in us, He changes us and draws us to Christ. He also equips us to do battle for the kingdom and combat spiritual warfare.

On the weekend edition of Live the Promise Susie is joined by Lisa Bevere of Messenger International. She shares a message God’s put in her heart that will compel us to dream bigger and use the Word of God as a sword and shield. Listen as Susie and Lisa call those with past sins to live in redemption rather than regret.

Embrace God’s declaration – if you are in Christ, you are a new creation.
Lisa grew up thinking morality was the goal of life – when she became born again, she read the Bible and realized that God doesn’t call us to morality – He calls us to holiness. When we submit our lives to God, He refines us through His Word, His people, the gift of marriage, and suffering.

You are a target. Becoming a Christian doesn’t mean you escape sorrow or trouble – it brings you to the frontlines of battle. And Satan will work to undermine your witness, shift your focus, and raise your pride. In Lisa’s words, “When you are anointed by God, you are noted by Satan.” There is something about your life that Satan wants to block or kill.

The good news? You might be a hero. “We can be in our day what the heroes of the faith were in their day.” – A.W. Tozer. What does it mean to be a hero? Follow after Christ. Listen to the nudge of the Holy Spirit and reach out to the person in front of you. Be quick to repent and quick to forgive. Use suffering and difficulty to cultivate fruit in your life and walk in humility and truth.

Forgetting what is behind, and pressing on to what is ahead… knowing and speaking the truth of God’s Word… that is how we do battle.

So timely for me at this juncture. Thank you for having Lisa on. Grateful for her words of wisdom and tenacity. Helps me to dig my heels in the ground against the enemy!

    Dear Marcia,
So grateful you were encouraged by the show. Another podcast that may be a blessing to you is my interview with Bo Stern. I’ve had her on a few times and she has a husband with ALS. Her insights about hanging on to God during such a fierce battle, are amazing. Just type her name into the search bar above and the podcasts will come up. God bless you, dear sister. Keep trusting. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. God is with you.

So encouraged by you 2 ladies. The battle is fierce at this time in my husbands health, our lives. I need to listen to this many times over to strengthen us.
