God calls us to remember those in prison. Susie is joined by Naghmeh Abedini for an update on her husband, Pastor Saeed, imprisoned in Iran. September 26 marked the two-year anniversary of his arrest, and Naghmeh shares her journey of faith and how we can pray for her ailing husband.

For Naghmeh, this has been a painful season, but one that has led her closer to Christ.

“This trial has led me to discover my ultimate weakness… I’ve been a Christian for almost 30 years but I feel like I’ve experienced His strength. Whatever happens in my life, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. That has freed me from fears of future what-ifs. “

Naghmeh shares an update on Saeed’s health and how we can pray for his physical needs.

“God has used him to show his persecutors the love of Christ. He’s in a lot of pain, he’s still got some internal injures; there were a few doctors who have said he needs surgery and they haven’t given him that. He’s hurting.”

Matthew Clark, attorney for the American Center for Law and Justice, encourages us to get involved.

“We’re asking people to take a stand and speak out. A lot of these people who are imprisoned for their faith, we never know about. We know about Saeed. We know Naghmeh and it’s imperative on us to speak out. Sign petitions or write letters. The more pressure that we put on the Iranian government, the more we can eventually get toward his release. We’ve taken his case to the United Nations and will continue to raise his plight.”
