Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians, “The kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, but of power.” What does this look like for the Christian?

Pastor Kerry Shook reached a point in his life and ministry where he was tired of talking about Jesus and the Bible without letting them impact the larger church culture and world. The gospel was never meant to be a compartment in our life, but the joy and truth that informs everything we do. He and his wife Chris join the program to talk about what it means to  They unpack several statements from their book that can help you refocus on the active Christian life:

“I want to talk about God less and walk with God more.”

“Your image may communicate a brand, but your life shouts the real message.”

“Before you open your mouth to speak, open your heart to care.”

“God never wastes a hurt. He can turn our pain into His purpose.”

“Don’t hide your failures. Your greatest mess is what God uses to become your greatest message.”

“If you want your message to be clearly heard, then you must clearly listen.”

“Your comfort zone is the death zone. God loves you enough to shove you out of your comfort zone and into your calling.”

Chris and Kerry emphasize that this is a journey. No one will do it perfectly, but if we choose to love others in Jesus’ Name on a daily basis – praying for our friends and our enemies, giving to the poor, empowering those with leadership potential, and digging into the Scriptures – we’ll find a deeper, more powerful life in Christ than what we’ve known before.
