“A child in crisis is a family in crisis.” – Sarah Nielson

Sarah’s son, Ted, started using marijuana at 11 and it lead him and his family on a 10 year journey of drugs, alcohol, and ultimately, recovery. Sarah Nielsen, author of Just Keep Going, joins Bill and George and shares her son’s story, the toll it took on her family and what she felt as a mother walking with her son through addiction.

Sarah’s hope in Jesus and her persevering faith will help you in your own walk as she shares openly about her son’s struggles – using 22 hours a day, how she was able to love him through his addiction, and how she had to trust God at her, and her son’s, darkest moments.

Today, Sarah is using her experience as an author and speaker, educating and helping others. Her son, Ted, was able to finish college through the StepUP Program and he’s now 6 years sober.

Tonight’s Steps:
1 – We admitted we were powerless over our addiction – that our lives had become unmanageable
2 – Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity
