What is limited atonement? Should a woman submit to men other than her husband? Listen for our monthly installment of Bible Answers with scholar Ron Rhodes. He joins Susie to address your questions on the end times, the nature of Christ, and more!

What Bible translations should we use?

Ron suggests cross-referencing different versions to give us a better idea of what the original text means.

“It’s important to have more than one Bible simply so you can compare them.”

He suggests using the English Standard Version (ESV) or the New American Standard Bibles (NASB) for a literal translation. If you’d like a translation that is moderately literal but easy to read, the New International Version is one to examine.

What is the true point of the Resurrection?

“The point of victory must come at the point of defeat. It is our bodies that go into the grave and it is our bodies that will be raised from the dead based entirely on the first fruits of the resurrection – Jesus Christ.”

What should we know about the End Times and the antichrist?

“The antichrist as an individual is going to be empowered by the devil. Satan does not have omniscience; he does not know the exact timing of when God will bring about the tribulation period. For that reason, he’s had an individual waiting in the wings in every generation.”

What does it mean to submit?

“God set up an authority structure inside the church, and He also set up an authority structure within the family unit. I know this is a hot potato issue – the question is, what does submit mean? Ephesians 5:21 says submit to one another out of reverence to the Lord. There is a sense in which [husbands and wives] submit to each other. Practically speaking, we all fail. We all mess this up. The best way to stay close is to move closer to Jesus.”

What does Ron think of the state of the church in America?

“In the end times there will be apostasy. But there will be those who will stand against political correctness and proclaim that Jesus is Lord.”

If someone accepts Jesus at a young age and walks away later in life, are they still saved?

“Once you become a believer, you are sealed until the day of redemption. We have an unbroken procession of election and salvation – it’s a done deal. God will ensure that you will make it to heaven.”
