In many ways, Jeff Spadafora was born to be a coach. It’s in his DNA. God, in his infinite wisdom and ability to see the future, made sure of that. Jeff’s father was a much revered football coach in Orange, Massachusetts and Jeff was able to learn firsthand how a really good coach goes about his business. Not surprisingly, Jeff spent 20 years as a leadership and executive development consultant for Fortune 1000 companies such as Ford Motor Company, Sears & Roebuck, Compuware, Domino’s Pizza, Visteon, Northern Trust Bank, Helene Curtis, and Sky Chefs before joining the Halftime Institute.

After spending his first fifteen years in Orange, he began attending the prestigious Deerfield Academy and starred in three sports: football, basketball, and baseball. “Sports were always the center of our family’s attention,” says Jeff. He would graduate from Deerfield and attend Amherst College, a division three school, where he once again excelled in sports.  “Looking back,” he says “I realize that not once in those four years at Amherst did I hear even the mention of God or Jesus. Quite honestly, it didn’t bother me at the time because after being raised a good Catholic and attending church every Sunday while I lived at home, I never thought about God again until I met him personally in my mid-thirties.”

In 2005, Jeff was inspired by Bob Buford’s book Halftime, and began a quest to discover his calling.

“I had been very successful and achieved all of the things I used to dream about,” he says. “But there was what I call a ‘smoldering discontent’ that I could not shake. I had to figure out what I was really put on this planet to do.”

Thankfully, he has found it. Today, he is the Director of the Halftime Institute’s Global Coaching Services and Product Development, where he trains and manages the global Halftime Coaching staff.

He lives in Evergreen, Colorado with his wife Michelle and three children.
