Does God care about our clutter?

On Connecting Faith, we talk with Jodie Watson, president of Supreme Organization and author of Purge With Passion to get organization principles from a Christian perspective.

Why is an organized life important to God? Jodie believes that living an organized life starts with Him, and explains what He has to say about it in the Bible.

We speak to the why’s and the how’s of living an organized life and in an orderly home—and how to maintain it day by day.

Jodi Watson specifically speaks to the importance of crafting a ‘vision area’ when first tackling a profoundly cluttered space.

Highlight: Vision areas

Jodie shares helpful & practical insights for organizing, including:

• Identify the ways disorganization can hinder you from pursuing God’s will.
• Take a deeper look at the things that God has entrusted to you.
• Adapt a biblical approach to ordering your life for God’s glory.
• Go beyond the surface and get to the very heart of your disorganization.

“There’s only so much that can fit in your closet, then it becomes cluttered!” – Jodie Watson

When we start battling back against our clutter, there can be a temptation to think we can fix it all at once. Jodie says to slow down and allow yourself time to get organized.

She also notes that clutter also comes in an emotional variety. Purging the chaos inside can allow God to reveal things we may be trying to hide, avoid, numb or bury. The fact is, clutter originates in our hearts & flows from there into the rest of our lives.
