We’ve all had moments of sudden insight or revelation. It’s important to share those moments with others!

Listen to Susie’s discussion with Pastor Kyle Idleman. He joins us to unpack Aha moments that draw us closer to God. Kyle says, in this culture, “We’re surrounded by self-help… but what we know spiritually is that God exalts the humble… when you realize your spiritual brokenness.”

Kyle unpacks the prodigal son’s journey and points to several aspects of his life and return to God. The “aha” moment comes when we recognize God as Father and understand His love for us. Listen as he and Susie unpack

  • The prodigal mindset
  • The characteristics of an ‘aha’ moment – Awakening, Honesty, and Action
  • How a person ends up in the “distant country” far from God
  •  How to see God as He is, a loving Father
  • What it means when God “sounds an alarm” in our life, and why we often respond with resistance

We all have a responsibility to “sound the alarm” for the people we love. Kyle writes that he’s often had to “go below deck and wake a sleeping person” to warn them that the ship of their life is going down, but every member of the body has a calling to hold up and exhort the people in their lives. God wakes us up to bring us closer to Him, and ‘aha’ moments are meant to bring us to a place of fuller surrender.
