Do you consider yourself to be an artist? The truth is, God wired you to cultivate and edify the world around you. Whether you work in a cubicle, change diapers and wipe noses, craft benches for a living, or train speakers and leaders, what you do is art. Listen to Susie’s discussion with author Emily Freeman. We’re going to look at how to uncover our God-given gifts and explore how to reflect His glory in A Million Little Ways. Emily’s other books include Grace for the Good Girl and Graceful: Letting Go of Your Try-Hard Life.

Emily shares with Susie what inspired her to write this latest book:

I had this crazy idea, Susie, that every one of us in an artist.  That doesn’t mean art’s going to look the same coming out of you than it does coming out of me. That’s why the book is called ‘A Million Little Ways.’ If that were so we’d all be robots! We were made by design and we’re made to move around in the world more like artists than technicians.

And I think that matters.

The first thing we know about God is that He created. In the beginning God made art. It didn’t say in the beginning God manufactured, or God had an assembly line.

When He made us, He made us in His image. So we know then that if He made art first and then He made us and He made us in His image, then we have been made in the image of an Artist.

You may not be an artist by profession… but you are an artist by design.
