What does it mean to live with generosity? Listen as author Jeff Anderson joins us to talk about the joy that comes from giving God whatever you have… even if it’s as simple as a donut. Jeff shares what led him to write his book, .

“The plastic donut is a little toy object I received from my 18-month-old daughter Autumn Joy. She brought me a plastic donut from her playset… I began to play into it and show her how much I enjoyed the gift, pretended I was eating it… that created a reaction in her eyes. She squealed and ran back to her kitchen playset and began to bring me more objects. As I was caught up in this exchange I began to think about how our gifts to God are much like gifts from a child to a father – is it possible He’s seeking this similar engagement with us? Our gifts to the church, in the name of Jesus, they’re really like a plastic donut to a father.”

Susie and Jeff explore:

• God’s original intent in giving

• What we can learn from Cain and Abel’s offerings

• The parable of the talents

• Why the size of your gift matters

• Common pitfalls in the discussion around giving, including the prosperity gospel

• How to give with a heart of gratitude and joy instead of obligation and burden

Jeff points out that God loves to engage with us, and when we give out of a love for Him and Who He is, it brings us closer to His heart as a Father.
