Deron Spoo is the lead pastor of First Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Since he became pastor in 2000, Deron has helped First Tulsa transition from simply being a downtown church to becoming a regional church committed to urban ministry. He is the author of “The Good Book: 40 Chapters That Reveal the Bible’s Biggest Ideas” which unlocks the major themes of Scripture to reveal God’s heart and mind, making the Bible uniquely personal. His television devotionals, First Things First, reach 100,000 people each week. Deron is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is a native Texan.
