Every morning Bob Beaudine wakes up, he sits down in his favorite chair. Across from him is another chair, empty. But it’s not really empty, God is seated in it.
“I leap out of bed. I can’t imagine. I’ve been getting mentoring advice and daily guidance every day.”
Bob even prepares the night before for his meeting with God in the two chairs.
“I have this little pad of paper I keep on the side of my bed and it’s a things I’m going to talk to God about in the morning. The thought comes in my mind and God says, yeah, write that down, that’s not too hard for me, go to bed and we’ll talk about that tomorrow.”
God wants us to have sweet sleep; how can we do that when we are always worrying about things before bed.
“In our worst moments, in our worst times the peace of God that passes all understanding, the joy, the insight, the wisdom, the power, the favor that we need, it only resides with God.”
Unfortunately, many of us don’t tap into the power that resides within us.
“Why would God say renew your mind daily if He only wanted you to do it on Sundays and Easter? Why would He say, ask, seek, and knock if He didn’t have something to say to us? Why would He say seek Him first if He wanted you to do it seventh?”
God wants to talk to us, it’s that simple. We don’t have to beg Him to talk to us.
“There’s over one hundred quotes, all throughout the Bible, all trying to tell you that you matter. God does more than just listen. He has plans, he wants to talk to you, shed light on things that he has for you to do but he has to have you stop and listen. You have to honor him by acknowledging he’s actually there.”
