Highlight: Conversations with God

How often do you talk to God? How often do you listen to Him? Bob Beaudine says that as much as it’s important to talk with God, we should make sure to make it a dialogue, not a monologue.

God wants to have a personal relationship with us. He doesn’t want it to be one-sided. It was Bob’s mother who first helped him understand his need for a relationship with God.

“She finally drew the line and said hey, we have to know the Word, we have to know about Him. We have to spend time talking to Him, praying, and loving Him.

When Bob came home from his Junior year at college, he noticed something different about his mom.

“My mom was on fire. She looked so beautiful. The fragrance of God is just beautiful.”

Bob asked his dad what was up with his mom, and he didn’t have the answer.

“She’s just joyous in the midst of all the trouble. She’s just peaceful.”

Fast forward one year, Bob comes back from his senior year of college to find his father’s life has been changed.

“My dad totally changed. He called me up my senior year, looked at me and said,

‘I need to talk to you. Everything I’ve taught you is kind of wrong. Here’s what your mom and I have done. We’ve set up two chairs in a room and we prayed that room up and we want you to go in and and create a relationship with Christ. I want you to go in and tell Him you’re sorry. I want you to go in and ask Him into your heart. I want you to sit down and talk with Him.’

When Bob opened the door to that room, he could feel the presence of God.

“It changed everything. I asked Jesus into my heart, I asked for forgiveness and when I came out my mom and dad kind of laid hands on me and we just started a journey.”

Bob Beaudine is the president and CEO of Eastman & Beaudine and recognized as the top sports/entertainment search executive in the U.S. Beaudine also serves as a member of the board of directors of the two-time American League Champion Texas Rangers.
