As the founder of the production company Reel Productions, LLC in 1988 and the Inc.5000 nominated international distribution company Exploration Films his vision has always been to life up his audience with inspiring faith filled stories.

His expertise in documentary filmmaking has led him to some of the most remarkable stories ever told.  Credits include The Mystery of The Ark of The Covenant, The Search for The Real Mt. Sinai (both narrated by John Rhys-Davies of Lord of the Rings & Indiana Jones fame), In The Hands of The Enemy – America Surrenders an Army, Journey of Hope- Walking With Hope Through Life’s Valleys featuring San Francisco Giants star pitcher Dave Dravecky.  Additionally he has produced classics like First Love – A Gathering of Jesus Music Pioneers, the popular series Incredible Creatures that Defy Evolution, The Gentle Bear Man of Emo, and most recently The Master Designer – The Song and the soon to be released Portraits of Colorado – The Making of A Modern American Symphony. Steve’s work as a filmmaker has garnered him numerous awards including 44 International Telly Awards. Steve currently serves a judge for the Telly’s.

His unique approach is partly the by product of growing up in Hong Kong, the son of missionaries his life journey has taken him 72 countries the world over.  He has filmed in over 45 of them. This has given him the sort of big picture perspective that has informed his vision.

Steve’s wife Nelly was a member to the legendary Jesus Music group The 2nd Chapter of Acts and their early life involved performing in 110 cities a year for 17 years. They now live the mountains of Colorado where Steve enjoys elk hunting each year with his friend Scott Rennick, who happens to be John Wayne’s godson.  He and his wife Nelly, enjoy hiking, camping, and in the summer motorcycling Colorado’s back roads of stunning beauty. Both are avid deep-sea divers and fitness enthusiasts.  He is the proud father of two grown sons, Andrew and Jesse, who also reside in Colorado.
