John 15 :1-17
Verse 13 says, “Greater love has no one than this, that you would lay down your life for your friends.”
Remember this hymn:
What a friend we have in Jesus! All our sins and griefs to bear.
And what a privilege to carry- everything to God in prayer.
Oh, what peace we often forfeit. Oh, what needless pain we bear.
All because we do not carry- everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged. Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful? Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness. Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Jesus made the supreme sacrifice – not for a nation but for a kingdom. And while he made that sacrifice for everyone, he made it personally for you. What a friend. What a Savior. What a King. What a Lord. What a gift. What a grace. What a friend.
