We know that as Christians we have the Spirit of God dwelling inside us, but what does that actually look like in our every day lives?
Heather Holleman says that among other things, being guarded by Christ means we can move from condemnation to confidence in Christ.
“Romans 8 says that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. As an educator I like to use contrast, so I said you know what, I’m not going to be condemned anymore, I’m moving from condemned to confident before Jesus. I can approach the throne of grace with confidence to find help in my time of need.”
According to Hebrews, we can enter the throne room of Christ showered with confidence and not condemnation.
“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through His flesh.” Hebrews 10:19
“Can you imagine? At any time you can enter into the presence of a Holy God who wants to meet every need that you have.”
“I don’t know many Christians that approach God with the confidence that He is listening, that He is making himself available, that as soon as you ask He begins to move, even often before you ask He’s moving on your behalf.”
At times, Heather admits she feels tempted to believe the lie of condemnation, but God had given her a way out.
“I was able to say no, I’m in the fortress of God’s guarding care, righteousness is available to me at all times, I move from condemned to confident.”
Heather said she uses the image of a catapult to help instill this belief in her heart and mind.
“I love the medieval castle theme and so I thought of myself catapulting into the presence of Jesus each day. I’m able to hurl myself into His presence and He’s delighted. He wants us to be with Him.
