There are so many different areas in life where we are tempted to call it quits, but God wants us to finish strong.

Nicki Koziarz points out that there is a significant difference between quitting and finishing. She elaborates on the concept of a ‘quitzilla’ from her book ,

“In the book I talk a lot about this idea of being a quitzilla; being furious, fed-up and fast to walk away.

“When we’re furious, fed-up and fast to walk away, that’s when we’re quitting. It’s a place where maybe somebody made us mad and so we’re going to just kind of storm out of the room and slam the door; I don’t mean that literally but figuratively in our hearts.”

Whether it’s a job, a program, a relationship or a God-given talent, we all have a tendency to want to give up if things aren’t going our way. Our flesh wants to call it quits, but our Spirit wants us to finish strong. Nicki describes the essence of finishing strong,

“There’s this place where we can kind of sense that God is leading us out of a season, or maybe we have some people speaking that into us.

“It begins with a place of God kind of just giving us a little nudge on our heart. When we finish, it’s a place where God has released us from that season.”

We are encouraged to reach out for Godly wisdom, counsel and direction, especially as seasons are changing in our lives. Nicki shares from personal experience,

“I’m a big fan of seeking wisdom when making big decisions about whether or not your season is finished or not.”

Nicki reminds us that God will guide us every step of the way as we go from one season to another, giving us wisdom to carry out each season of our lives to completion.

“If God has said, ‘This season is finished,’ you will be walking in His faithfulness to it. He is going to see you through until the very end. He’s not going to leave you hanging; He’s not going to come to just go, ‘Ok, well now you can just figure this out on your own.’ His Holy Spirit is going to lead you through that season.”

Even though we may be tempted, we don’t have to quit. God will give us the strength to finish strong in every area of our lives.
