Highlight: Do you have a sleep routine?

Do you prioritize sleep in your routine? Dr. Troy Spurrill explains that the only way to truly have good health is to have great sleep.

“You have to have a good steady plan and a good night routine to truly appreciate good health.”

Even the healthiest person will be decimated if they are sleep deprived for an extended period of time.

“Within three short weeks they are going nuts with how they feel, you have to have that sleep.”

How much of a priority should sleep be?

“We spend a third of our life on our bed, and so we should prioritize sleep by putting more time, effort, and money into that than almost anything else when it comes to our health.”

Investing in a good mattress and enhancing your sleep environment can actually help you save money in the long run.

Dr. Troy and his wife take their sleep so seriously that if they happen to find better sleep while on the road, they take notice.

What is this joy I’m sleeping on right now, this is unbelievable. If you could be a fly on the wall, you would see us tearing that whole thing apart, getting labels, and writing down the names, taking pictures, and we duplicate that at our home.”

Proper sleep habits affect the rest of our lives, including our metabolism and digestive system.

“You will crave caffeine and sugar when you’re sleep deprived, if you’re using coffee to wake up and a glass of wine to go to sleep at night, that’s a recipe for disaster. We want to get the good sleep because if you don’t you’re going to start craving the sugars.”

What changes do you need to make to your habits and routine to prioritize sleep?
