When we hear the word dream or promise, we tend to think it’s a fluffy, easy road. Pastor and author Adonis Lenzy says that couldn’t be further from the truth. In order to walk the path God has for us, we need stamina, strength, and trust.

“God’s not just going to hand you something on a silver platter. We have to work for it; we have to exercise our faith; we’ve got to engage in the plan that God has for our lives.”

Maybe God has shown you the next thing He has for you to do but you’re wrestling with complacency. Adonis encourages you to choose to trust God.

“A lot of times I believe people sit on the fence because they dream the dream and they expect it to come to pass on its own. Or they expect it to come to pass without any adversity or opposition. When it’s a God dream, it’s bigger than us and it’s going to affect people outside of us.”

Our dream starts to take shape when we decide to take action. Adonis explains in his book  .

“I tell people it’s time to roll up your sleeves. It’s time to put some feet to your faith and start walking. And it’s going to take hard work. Roll up your sleeves, get in there, get in the game and partner with God.”

Dreaming takes tenacity. It takes faith. It takes discipline.

Adonis says we have to plan ahead for adversity so it won’t take us by surprise.

“When I’m starting out a new venture or new goals, I always factor in slammed doors. I factor in things not working out the way I thought they were going to work out. Because when that happens – and it will happen – it won’t deflate me. It won’t take away my excitement; it won’t take away my zeal. I’m still trusting God, and I’m walking out this promise.”
