“Not only do you carry greatness, but you have amazing power. I believe when we would surrender, submit our ways and our needs and our goals at the feet of Jesus, and get out of the way, that’s when life gets rich.”
We tend to think that greatness means having a large circle of influence, visibility, wealth, and world power. Truthfully, greatness comes from having the Spirit of God in you, leading and teaching you in God’s ways.
Evangelist Frank Shelton Jr. says we sometimes feel that life is passing us by, but we can rest in the knowledge that God Himself will never pass us by. He often drops us into seasons of obscurity to shape our character. If you’re in a season of testing right now, ask how you can serve someone else.
“Whenever I feel discouraged or depressed, one thing I like to do is go to the senior citizen home. The greatest blessing is being a blessing. When you begin to focus on others’ problems, your problems don’t seem so big.”
Our worth doesn’t come from our family line. Frank’s own family line stretches back to King Henry VIII and the days of the Tudors. One of his ancestors also tended to the body of President Abraham Lincoln. Frank’s genealogy has many well-known characters. Yet his worth doesn’t come from an earthly name.

With that heavenly authority comes a heavenly responsibility – God is for us, so who can be against us? We can live with radical faith because of Who we belong to. Frank explains in his book, .
“We don’t do a service to God by playing small. God wants us to have big faith.”
Frank encourages us to live with a sense of urgency as the days get darker.
“Time is running out. And what keeps me up at night [is that] nine out of ten Christians will live their whole life never once leading anybody to Jesus. And I believe most of us have enough of Jesus to get us to heaven but not enough of Jesus to keep a best friend out of hell.”
You’re where you are for a reason. Others need to hear the Gospel message you carry! So because you carry greatness, and Greatness carries you, you can share your faith and live fearlessly for Christ without worrying about the outcome! How can you take a bold step of faith where you are?
