There is more to life than hanging on and holding on until Jesus returns. God calls us to live for more and has instilled in each of us dreams that will further His kingdom. We just need to say yes.
“The Holy Spirit has a way of conceiving dreams in our hearts.”
Mark Batterson calls these dreams God ideas.
“I’d rather have one God idea than a thousand good ideas.”
“What I think happens is the Holy Spirit conceives these desires or ideas within us, but then you need the courage to take that first step. You can’t finish what you don’t start.”
Mark firmly believes that many of us are one application, meeting, or phone call away from encountering the dream God has for us.
“They just need to take that first step of faith to act on the idea that God has put on their heart. When we do God always meets us more than halfway.”
Often, we are tempted to just hold on until Jesus returns to take us home. However, we don’t have to just hold on, God can do amazing things in and through us.
“I’ve read the end of the book and we win. The Kingdom of God in unstoppable.”
“The Kingdom of God predates our democracy and the wonderful country that we have the privilege of living in and it post-date our country.”
God’s Kingdom will never be snuffed out. It is always best to have God in your corner no matter how small you feel you are.
“If you were betting on the Roman empire versus 12 people in the upper room. You’d probably bet on the Roman Empire, but you’d be wrong. The Kingdom of God will prevail.“
We are invited to join God in His kingdom.
“We have the privilege of being a part of it. We want to see His kingdom come and His will be done and I think part of that is chasing the lion, it’s going after these dreams and seeing those dreams become reality.”
Mark Batterson is a New-York Times Best-selling author who serves as lead pastor of National Community Church in Washington DC.
