Authority over your circumstances

Do your circumstances rule you, or do you rule them? So often when we let our circumstances rule we are lead to a place of fear.

Susie Larson shares God’s invitation to each of us to partner with Him to walk through the fear instead of running from it.

“When your fears lumped together with your battles it seems like you cannot win. The truth is I don’t think you can win because that fear sucks the life out of you. It really takes a discerning spirit, it takes the sword of the spirit, to cut through so you know where your fear ends and your circumstance begins.”

Jesus has given us all power and authority over the enemy, over fear, and over our circumstances.

“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” Luke 10:19

You do not need to be ruled by the battle you are in or your circumstances. While the circumstances can not always be changed the stuff of fear, depression and unhealthy thoughts can be. Susie encourages each of us to face the parts that can be addressed with our God given authority.

“Rise up and discern the dividing point between that stuff and your actual circumstances. Deal with the stuff because God’s given you authority to deal with the stuff.”

With the power of the Holy Spirit we can take control of the things in our life that threaten to control our hearts.

“When you separate the spiritual component and the anxiety component that you have authority to deal with you know you can make it. You are going to make it through; you will.”

God has promised us grace, and His grace is sufficient for the battles before us. We just need to trust Him with our circumstances and fear.

“We have to trust Him in that but I’m telling you this is one of those strategies that I learned that was so keenly important. Find that dividing line between your stuff and the circumstance and by the authority of Christ take authority.”
