It’s been a tough week for the Faith Radio family. Prayers are appreciated for the network as well as the family of Austin Hill.

Faith Radio host, Austin Hill, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on November 13, 2015.

The shock hit us all hard. One moment he was emailing, making show plans and talking about interviews. Without warning, he passed into eternity.

Sudden loss involves a process—shock and denial, followed by living in the reality of the person being gone. This can cause loneliness and deep sadness that can lead to depression.

We have so many reactions to loss—anger, helplessness, fear, bargaining and even survivor’s guilt. Those emotions come and go and must be worked though over time. Eventually, there is an acceptance that sets in and a new normal is established.

Loss is never easy. And saying goodbye to our dear friend, Austin Hill proved to be difficult for many in our listening audience, myself included. So this weekend, we are honoring Austin Hill and having listeners give their thoughts on his passing. This show will both bless and move you.

If you struggle with loss this holiday season, here are a few scriptures to encourage you.

“He gives power to the weak, and those who have no might, He increases strength.” Isaiah 40:29

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

And the promise in Revelation 21:4 is that one day,

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Until that day, we mourn and are comforted by the One who shares our grief and sorrows. Goodbye my friend, Austin Hill. You are already missed.

Saying goodbye to Austin Hill
