But, after a time away from the game – and having earned his real estate license – a conversation with an old baseball friend sparked the sense that God was leading him back to the big leagues. And so Blaine Boyer set out on a one of a kind return journey to the big leagues that stretched from Japan to El Paso to San Diego, and finally to experiencing the greatest success of his career with the red hot Minnesota Twins.

After a substantial time spent in the private sector, following his decision to retire to be there full time for his children and his wife, Blaine experienced a pivotal conversation. God used it to get Blaine’s attention, and so began his unlikely path back to the big leagues. He reflects on how his friend Paul Byrd’s words changed his outlook.
