We welcomed Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life to Cradle My Heart to talk about the Planned Parenthood baby body parts investigation, and what it means for those of us who may be grieving a child lost to abortion. You will hear of decades-long research that has gone into the latest expose, and some ways that we can and should respond.
The Center for Medical Progress released a third undercover video this week further exposing Planned Parenthood’s alleged practice of selling baby body parts. Over the past three weeks, we’ve welcomed discussion during the live portion of our broadcast, and posted articles on our Facebook Page. But I haven’t written extensively. I found the reaction of many post-abortive leaders has been measured as well. There’s a reason for that.
We already knew the damage abortion does to the tiny one (translation: fetus).
That doesn’t mean we aren’t equally horrified, and equally angry, but sadly, we are not shocked. Here is a wonderful article from Care-Net on 6 Things Post-Abortive Women Should Know about the Planned Parenthood Video if you’ve been avoiding these videos and the discussion on social media.
Father Frank talks about healing the shockwaves of abortion in our family and social circles–and taking the time to memorialize our lost ones. I was blessed to be able to memorialize my child lost to abortion through a Conquerors group in Minneapolis where I lived at the time. (You can find similar groups through the National Helpline for Abortion Recovery or Abortion Recovery InterNational.) The upcoming National Day of Remembrance in September will provide that to all who attend the local events or participate in any way at all.
From Father Frank’s bio:
FR. Frank Pavone is one of the most prominent pro-life leaders in the world. Originally from New York, he was ordained in 1988 by Cardinal John O’Connor, and since 1993 has served full-time in pro-life leadership with his bishop’s permission. He is the National Director of Priests for Life, the largest pro-life ministry in the Catholic Church. He is also the President of the National Pro-life Religious Council, and the National Pastoral Director of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign and of Rachel’s Vineyard, the world’s largest ministry of healing after abortion. He travels throughout the country, to an average of four states every week, preaching and teaching against abortion. He produces programs regularly for religious and secular radio and television networks. He is the author of four books, Ending Abortion, Not Just Fighting It; Pro-life Reflections for Every Day; Abolishing Abortion, and Preaching on Abortion. Norma McCorvey, the “Jane Roe” of the Supreme Court’s Roe vs. Wade abortion decision, called Fr. Frank “the catalyst that brought me into the Catholic Church.”
