Kim Wilson has a vision for a world where young women of color value and practice abstinence.

In such a place a world of hurt has disappeared. Families feature both fathers and mothers, and children enjoy stable homes. HIV-AIDS is no longer the leading threat of death to black women aged 24-35. Abortion no longer takes the lives of half of the children of color conceived each year. And maybe, just maybe, there are no more riots over the senseless death and imprisonment of so many young black men.

For all of these problems and more, Wilson says, “Abstinence is the cure.”

Wilson has taken her message around the world: Experience God’s best for your life by avoiding sex before marriage. She has taught the message through her writing and speaking and presenting conferences on three continents.

And when Wilson speaks, women listen. Her engaging style is inspired by her mother, Loretta Johnson who put faith in action in her lifelong nursing vocation, giving of her time and resources to women and girls as young as 13 in problem pregnancies. She saw the practical value of teaching girls to avoid sex until marriage, and to discern how to build a healthy relationship with a marriage-minded man.

Wilson is the author of a workshop and booklet, The Abstinence Handbook which she makes available for a nominal fee. Her organization presents conferences, including an upcoming event in the Atlanta area in June.

One amazing key unlocks poverty, fatherlessness, HIV-AIDS, abortion, and more
