Our purpose is to be informed and instructed by God’s Word, to understand it as clearly as we can, based on what it says, and to search our own hearts for how it can form and transform each of us.

Are you aware of the influence of the world (which is against God), to get you to conform to what the world wants and believes?

This might be the question that saves the world, something Jesus came to do. Paul did not write Romans 12:12 because it is easy, but as a hedge against heresy:

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

This is one of those verses to memorize, to place it in view, and to be praying for.

Colossians 3:1 says we have been resurrected with Christ, and are seated with Him in the heavenly realms. In God’s eyes it is finished; our job is to begin the process of renewing our mind. Our decision to say yes to God is the beginning. We accept and receive Jesus’ suffering and death as payment, a full price which redeems us. We cross the bridge between our old life of sin and the new life in Christ. We become holy and altogether acceptable and beloved by God. Then we begin the process of resurrection and transformation.

“We engage the struggle with perseverance (called a race) to lay down the weight and enticing sin.” Hebrews 12:1

When we focus on Jesus and seek his instruction and discipline, the loving Father teaches and transforms us into the likeness of His Son. By yielding our will to His and seeking what He wants not what we want, we keep in step with the Spirit.  This process produces fruit that is the proof of transformation- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control (Galatians 5:22).

Let me pray for you, Father gather us to yourself right know. Stir  us of any “conforming” that has occurred. Right NOW, engage our minds so that we are alert to the world’s attempt to steal us from your truth.  In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen
