How can we pray over current events? Craig von Buseck is back for another edition of Grace and Truth. He helps us think biblically about racial reconciliation, religious freedom, and how to pray for our nation.

Here are some of the topics Craig addresses on this program:

The terror attack in Paris

Craig turns our attention to the technology as this event unfolded. “We are now connected in an unbelievable way. Who would have guessed that within seconds of something happening – a terror attack in Paris – that I would be able to watch video of it? The world is using it, ISIS is using it… these things are being planned and staged.” Craig points to two tools we as God’s people can utilize – technology, and prayer.

• Pray for the families of the victims.

• Pray that France continues to hold its position on freedom of the press. “Today, this group in a violent and evil way, sought to quiet the mouth of free expression.” Craig points out that in a society of free expression, the truth will by nature rise to the top.

• Pray that God will embolden those in law enforcement to stand in faith instead of fear. Craig urges us to pray for those in the military as well. “This is not a time for cowardice and fear – those who know their God will be strong and will do mighty exploits.”

Persecution

“Myriads of Christians have faced persecution… 2014 is the worst year of Christian persecution since Open Door has been tracking it.”

The increasing hostility toward law enforcement

• Pray for revival in America as lawlessness increases

• Pray that those who feel wronged will use “peaceful resistance” as Dr. Martin Luther King advocated
