“Long before we existed, there was something that we were supposed to do and it was prepared for us to do.”

Tim Mahoney is a filmmaker who wrote and produced the documentary . The film seeks to prove Exodus account in the Bible to be historically accurate. He feels distinctly called to work to uncover evidence to prove the historicity of the Bible. However, it wasn’t always that way.

For most of his life, Tim felt restless, like there was something he was supposed to be doing. When he heard Ephesians 2:10 for the first time, it finally made sense to him.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

Tim finally understood that God has prepared us for something, and it’s our job to discover what it is. Many people struggle to feel like they belong or have purpose. That’s because they have no idea what God wants them to do with their lives.

“Once I heard that verse, I realized I better figure that out because if there’s something I’m supposed to be doing than I better get on with it.”

Tim realizes now that what God wanted him to do all along was to make a documentary proving that the events in the Bible actually happened.

When he was younger, Tim was confronted by people who challenged his beliefs. Many people questioned whether or not the Bible was even real. This prompted Tim to slip into sketicism as well. Instead of abandoning the faith, Tim chose to follow God’s lead and go on an adventure to find out if the Bible was as real as it claimed to be.

“It all began from growing up hearing stories about the Bible and then being offered the opportunity to search for them.”

Do you know what God wants you to do? Do you even know that God has a plan for you in the first place? Today, take the time to ask God to help you see what his plan is for your life and ask him to help prepare your heart for the journey. Believe that God has big plans for you, just like he did for Tim.
