One of Steven’s friends gave the book to a clients with the encouragement to read at the entry for her own birthday to see if God had a special message for her.
Several months earlier, this woman’s husband had been tragically shot to death and she had been struggling with fear ever since. The entry for her birthday was about eliminating all fear by fearing God.
She began to read the entry for her birthday and the first red-lettered statement was,
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.”
The woman broke down in tears, because she knew that God was revealing Himself to her through this entry. She continued to read.
“Why should you continue to live in worry and fear? You are often anxious about so many things and your life is tormented with stress. When you are fearful, it is a sign that you are setting your focus on the temporary things of this life.”
A peace that passes all understanding began to penetrate her heart as she felt the loving embrace of Jesus wash over her, and she realized she has nothing to fear.
“This world is not your permanent home. Even death should not be feared by My followers. It’s simply the doorway to your eternal home. Fill your heart with My words and My peace will replace all your fears.”
