The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). How do we cultivate wisdom in our lives? Using WISE as an acronym, Susie unpacks four important aspects of wise living in the heart of a believer.

Susie unpacks wisdom in this way:

“To stand in awe of God
And give Him the glory He deserves
Is the doorway to
Knowing Him deeply and
Experiencing Him profoundly.”

When we stand in awe of God, a number of things happen in our perspective and thought pattern. Susie explains in four steps:

Worship
The wise person worships the Lord in spirit and in truth. Choose to honor Him and your soul will follow

Intimacy and Identity
The wise person knows who they are, and Whose they are.

“If you’ve received Christ in your heart, you are saved and loved. And nothing will ever change that. What I’ve noticed about those who are hit-and-miss Christians have less influence.”

Scripture
The wise person stands on Scripture. The Bible is living, fresh, efficient, and powerful. When we spend regular time in the Word, knowing the promises of God, we are more equipped to counter the lies of the enemy. Regardless of the problem you currently face, there is a verse and a promise for you in God’s Word.

Engage
The wise person engages his or her faith. Raise the shield of faith and worship. Pray. Trust. Speak the promises of God over your life and the lives of the people around you.

Susie unpacks two final points regarding wisdom:

• You can have as much as you want. God gives to all who ask.

• You can’t take credit for it.
