What does it mean to be brave? Can we choose courage even when we’re scared out of our mind? Author Annie Downs says yes. She joins Susie to encourage us to be brave and live with passion even when we struggle with fear.

Annie doesn’t consider herself a brave person, but she’s taken steps of faith throughout her life to bring her closer to God. As a single woman she packed up and moved to Nashville without knowing a single person there. Was it seamless? No. But in Annie’s words,

“Whatever God is calling you to do is your extreme step of courage.”

Annie also points out that the words and perspectives of others can be a catalyst to our own growth.

“People are being brave all around you all the time; sometimes they don’t even realize it and we get the joy of pointing out to them, ‘That was really brave.'”

She and Susie also look at

• Her own faith journey.

• How God grew her faith in His faithfulness over moves to Nashville and Scotland.

• Words of wisdom for the person who is feeling that nudge to step out but is afraid of failure.

• The different levels of bravery in life, and why sometimes going to work, coming home, or walking into a church building may be the most courageous thing you do today.
