Do you love Jesus?

Are you living in the truth that you belong in His family?

Listen as Susie is joined by pastor Brady Boyd of New Life Church to unpack his book, . We explore what it means to live in God’s family and embrace our new identity in Christ, along with the call on our lives to care for the widows and orphans of today.

Brady says,

If you’re around an orphan… they tend to withdraw anytime the word commitment is brought up. They don’t trust – they don’t belong… they tend to be very isolated and alone and very vulnerable.

That’s why in James chapter 1 it says, pure religion in the Bible that God our Father accepts is to take care of widows and orphans. Why would he point out those two groups? Because those are the two most vulnerable groups of people in our culture. Widows and orphans. Orphans feel very vulnerable, very detached – so one of my favorite things is to go to the court room when these adoptions are final and watch that judge put the gavel down and say, “You now belong to this family for ever and always.”

This is the very call of God on our lives – to draw us in and give us a place to belong. Psalm 68 states, “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families.” This is God in His most holy place – God wants to set the lonely, the orphans, into families. I believe in this season of time right now that the Holy Spirit is going to draw people into families, into God’s family. That’s the heart of the Lord.
