Our nation is poised for a spiritual revival. On this edition of Live the Promise Susie is broadcasting live from Fargo! Listen as she welcomes Bill Elliff of OneCry Movement to the program to unpack the process of revival.

“In the first 150 years of our nation’s history, God sent nationwide revival every 30-60 years… So when the Church began to slide – and we always do – men in that generation knew what to do. They knew they had to repent and humble themselves and cry out and pray. It’s been over 110 years since we’ve had a nationwide revival. The church today has no context for what a nationwide revival can actually accomplish and why it’s our only hope.”

What is revival? In Bill’s words, quoting Richard Owen Roberts, it is

“the extraordinary work of the Spirit of God that produces extraordinary results… [Revival] is God’s way of reminding us what heaven is like and bringing us back to holiness and righteousness and her great task of making disciples of all the nations.”

Bill details his experience of revival, and the process of bringing it to our churches:

• Repentance
• Reading the Word
• Prayer
• Fasting

Bill says, we need to pray for God’s kingdom to come in every nation, not just our own. God’s kingdom crosses borders, oceans, nationalities, and oceans. It is a process that is refreshing for our spirits but severely uncomfortable for our flesh. “Our great hope is not America; our great hope is God’s kingdom. We’re for the kingdom. If we’re praying just for revival so things can get more comfortable, we’re missing the point.”

Bill says, it all comes down to one crucial question: Am I willing to do whatever God asks to see revival come in my own heart, in my own family, in my own city, in my own nation?
