“Our hearts, by nature, are allergic to truth.”

Facing the truth and receiving help can be hard, and tonight the guys are joined by an intervention specialist who will help you know how to approach a loved one who might be in need of help, and how to receive the truth if you’re the one in a place of need.

Bill runs George through a series of questions that could help you know if you or a loved one are in need of an intervention, and they welcome Mike Lewis, who does interventions seven days a week, to help answer those questions.

Mike walks you through the process of an intervention and sheds light on some key areas that families of addicts and addicts themselves need to address. He reminds us that God doesn’t make junk, every life is valuable, and that we need to fight against the forces coming against our loved ones.

Mike talks about the importance of letting God change someone in addiction, or as he says, “I can’t. He can.” Plus, he gives some practical advice for loved ones of addicts when it comes to setting boundaries, establishing consequences and taking care of yourself even in the middle of a loved ones addiction.

Key Verses:

“Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.” Psalm 97:10

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6: 11-13
