It’s OK to doubt, but when evidence is solid, we should be open to changing our minds. When it comes to the area of intelligent design, the evidence is overwhelming, yet people still cling to a materialistic view. How can we engage a culture that is increasingly hostile to the idea of a Divine Designer? The Discovery Institute’s Director for Science and Culture, and noted scholar Stephen Meyer’s latest book is called Darwin’s Doubt and he reviews questions and points of debate in the ongoing battle over origins.

Proponents of Intelligent Design hold to one simple premise – information comes from intelligence. The discovery of coded DNA within the cell sounded a death knell for evolutionists, as Dr. Meyer details in his book. He discusses the importance of letting science follow the evidence, the gaps in the fossil record, and how we can point to the complexity of life as a way to worship God. Meyer explores other aspects of this debate in his discussion with Neil:

* The “tree” of Darwinian evolution, and the reality that seems to suggest a “forest” instead

* The sequence hypothesis

* The major flaws in evolutionary thinking

* The common arguments for and against Intelligent Design

* How to approach and interpret scientific evidence without bias

* How Christians, even those with limited scientific knowledge, can engage the new atheists and share the gospel with them
