Many women wrestle with the feeling of not being good enough, smart enough, pretty enough. How can we learn to let God define and speak to us? On this edition of Live the Promise Susie’s guest is author and Proverbs 31 speaker Renee Swope. We talk about how to embrace our identity and fulfill our God-given purpose without fear or anxiety. Renee’s book is A Confident Heart.

Renee is very candid about her struggle for affirmation from others. Her sense of value and acceptance was birthed out of “what can I do”? “On the outside I was a high achiever. On the inside I was empty… It led me to a really dark place, but in that dark place I cried out to God and asked Him to rescue me from that pit.” Over time God showed Renee the destructive thought patterns she had grown to accept as normal. He brought her back to the Word and over time renewed her mind.

Listen as Renee offers insights into these topics:

• The definition of self-doubt
• The most common triggers of self-doubt
• The distinction between self-doubt and worry
• How to renew your mind with Scripture
• The importance of dealing with the baggage of your past

Renee encourages men and women everywhere to live in humble confidence. If we are in Christ, we are new creations, and we are declared righteous before God. The opinion of the world might change with time, but our position with God will always be as a son or daughter. When we understand that our worth is not “up for grabs,” in Susie’s words, we can live in peace and walk in rest.
