This is part 3 of a 6 part series looking at Your Beautiful Purpose. Listen to Part 1: Embracing your purpose

There are many voices in our lives – our parents, our close friends, our spouse, ourselves, and God. Sometimes it can be hard to sort out what is from God and what is from others. We know that God speaks to us through His Word, His people, and our circumstances. But how can we train ourselves to discern His voice in those categories? Listen to Susie share more from her book, Your Beautiful Purpose. We talk about how to hear our Heavenly Father’s voice, and Susie shares some tools we can use when we’re looking for God’s guidance in our lives.

God’s voice becomes muted in our lives when we become sidetracked by lesser things. Get alone with God and ask Him to show you what lesser things are getting in the way of intimacy with Him. It might be spending too much time on Facebook. It might be overeating. It might be abusing drugs or alcohol. It might be the fear of man. When we clear out the clutter and “everything that hinders,” as the writer of Hebrews says, we’re in a place to hear God and feel His nudge.

Commit to spending daily time with Him. Choose to listen to worship music. Scripture is meant to be spoken out loud – start reading out loud and speaking God’s truth to yourself. This is a key step in preparing yourself to step into your calling, because as you hear His promises, you are training yourself to resist Satan’s temptations and focus instead on God’s unchanging, unshakeable Word. What has God been speaking to you today?

Key Scriptures: Hebrews 12:1-3; James 4:7; John 10:14-16

The morning and evening prayer/blessings that I’ve seen on fb have really ministered to me…is there a book with them in it?

I appreciate being able to listen to you on the radio and to read your blessings and other posts on fb. I would love to win this book. I feel so much of the time I’m too busy or in such a hurry to truly hear God. God bless you Susie.

I was in the car today listening and it was a very timely encouragement. I am currently in a place of training and endurance and its been a long road and I am getting weary but I know its worth it. I was talking with a friend this morning and told her I needed an encouragement from God to keep going and to be strength through this journey and your broadcast was an answer to that prayer! Thanks for sharing!

  • Judy Hereid says:

I hear God’s voice each time I get angry or criticize someone even myself. It’s satan taking hold of me, then God speaks and tells me what I did was wrong. Okay God I hear You, Please forgive me. Things always settle down.

  • Lisa says:

I hope i win a copy. too many times in the past I’ve believed God was speaking to me..through his word, people, signs, songs….but in the end i think i was deceived. I’ve lost my faith in my ability to rightly disern Gods voice. I’m lost. paralyzed. depressed to the point of being hospitalized and unable to function.
