God is high and lifted up – when we see Him as He is, we are moved to worship. Listen as musician Dan Dean of Phillips, Craig and Dean joins us to share his music and faith journey!

The band recently released a new album. Dan talks about the inspiration behind Above It All.

“We as pastors have people come to us with unbelievable questions about life and what they’re going through – part of the answer we can always point to is that there’s Somebody who is in control; nothing catches Him off guard or takes Him by surprise.”

That theme informs the entire album, including these select songs:

• High Above It All

• Jesus Only Jesus

“Who do we turn to in any life situation? It’s Jesus, only Jesus.”

• Come As You Are

Dan says this continues their general theme of God’s mercy and grace.  “I didn’t have to do anything to get God to love me. He loves me just because He loves.”

Come as you are, as you are
With your heart wide open and broken
Come as you are
With your wounds and your scars
He is waiting, hear Him saying
“Fall into My arms,
Come as you are.”

• What Hope Feels Like

In Dan’s words, it’s one of his favorite new songs, even though “it’s not one of the most classic PCD worship tunes.” The writer got the inspiration from the story of a woman whose engagement had been broken. When asked if she would sell her wedding dress, she said no. “I’m going to keep it, because I want to remember what hope feels like.” Dan says, we need God. We need a source of hope because “we live in a world that is dying for hope.”
