As the director of advocacy for Open Doors USA, Kristin Wright works with government officials to call attention to and rally U.S. support for Christians living under and facing religious persecution overseas.

Wright’s experience in refugee work near the Syrian border and at a refugee resettlement office has prepared her well to advocate for those being persecuted for their faith.

Having joined Open Doors in 2013, Wright pens a regular column for The Huffington Post about refugees and women’s issues.

Wright holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from the University of Indianapolis. She lives in the Washington, D.C. area.

For nearly 60 years, Open Doors has worked in the world’s most oppressive countries, empowering Christians who are persecuted for their beliefs. Open Doors equips persecuted Christians in more than 60 countries providing Bibles, training, programs to help women and children who have been marginalized because of their beliefs and status in society, and helping to restore communities that have been destroyed because of faith.
